Beth W.
Private tutor in Ballwin, MO
Education
B.S. in Biology M.S. in Geosciences/Astrobiology
Experience
I began teaching as a T.A. in graduate school. In addition to teaching weekly labs, I held regular office hours. Because my undergraduate and graduate studies covered many disciplines, I have a broad knowledge base in the math and sciences. Currently, I am a private tutor and have tutored dozens of students in pre-Algebra, Algebra I/II Trig., Geometry, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Study Skills, and all ACT subjects. I particularly enjoy teaching ACT because I can take a much more personalized approach. More than just practicing, I tailor each session to an individual's needs and asses progress at every meeting. Whether a student needs a few last minute tips or a more comprehensive study plan, I help them achieve a higher score!

Hobbies
Parents and students seek ACT tutors because a lot of weight is put on a student's ACT score when applying for college. Unlike traditional courses and other tutors, I develop an individual, fluid study plan for each student. I regularly check the student's progress and adjust their plan as needed. This way they're not just practicing what they already know, thereby wasting time and money. My approach absolutely gets the most bang for your buck! When I'm not chasing after two kids or tutoring, I love traveling, reading, and running.
